I think it's the fact that there are so many different active timezones on dA that sometimes the message is a little bit out of sync with your part of the world, and rather than breaking the system, it just puts up that little message. For example, have you ever gotten an e-mail out of sequence? You know, where it shows up before another message that you've already received?
